| 内容記述 | 東洋人は、西洋人と比較して、矛盾があってもそれを 受容しやすいという弁証法的傾向が強いとされていますが、これまでは、この違いは、東洋の集団主義文化・西洋の個人主義文化という枠組みで説明されていました。つまり、東洋人は集団主義文化の中で調和を重んじ、対立あるいは矛盾する主張があっても集団の調和を崩さないように弁証法的になるという説明です。しかし、上記の通説では説明のつかない事例が存在することから、東洋の高コンテクスト文化・西洋の低コンテクスト文化という 枠組みで説明を試みました。日本は「阿吽の呼吸」がよしとされる典型的な高コンテクスト文化です。つまり 日本を含めた東洋では、コミュニケーションが コンテクストに依存する度合いが高いため、少々の矛盾が含まれていても暗黙裡にそれを解消できるとする規範が形成されているとする説明です。この説明は、地勢的・生態的要因から文化多様性をとらえるビッグ・ヒストリーとも結びつけられ、また、日本と中国の差異の説明にも適用されています。 | |||||||||||
